Draft for review. Operator and contact details are placeholders.
This notice describes the data handling implemented in the current version of Touchline Rivals. Local career saving and server diagnostics are separate: saving a career locally does not mean that no data leaves your device.
Career data on your device
The game stores your manager and career names, chosen settings, club, progress and save history in browser storage so you can resume playing. Browser storage also remembers whether you have seen the introduction. You can use a fictional manager name; no account, email address or payment details are required to start a career.
Career backups are files you choose to download. Restoring a backup reads the file you select in your browser. Anyone with access to your device or an exported backup may be able to read its contents. Sharing a backup is your choice.
Gameplay diagnostics
During play, the game records diagnostic events to investigate errors and improve gameplay. Records can include a career identifier, a session identifier, timestamps, visited game screens, activity duration, actions and results, errors, and game-state summaries. Game-state records can include the manager name you entered.
Diagnostic records are queued in browser storage and sent to the server serving the game. If a connection fails, queued records can be retried later. These records are separate from your playable career save. Deleting a career or clearing browser data does not delete records already received by the server.
Website analytics and hosting
The site includes Vercel Web Analytics. Where enabled on the deployment, it sends website usage information to Vercel, including page URLs, referrers, visit timestamps, approximate location and browser, device and operating-system information. This helps understand site usage. The app does not deliberately send career saves or manager names as custom analytics events.
On the public production site, custom analytics events record new careers, country choices and whether they lead to a career, broad device categories (mobile, tablet or desktop), completed season numbers, and whether a visit reaches the game beyond the opening screen. Browser storage holds local markers to reduce duplicate counts. Career identifiers used in those local markers, raw user-agent strings and hardware identifiers are not sent as custom event data. These measurements are separate from gameplay diagnostic records.
Vercel describes Web Analytics as cookie-free, using a temporary visitor hash rather than an identifier that tracks you across different sites. Its documentation says that visitor sessions are discarded after 24 hours; this is not a promise that all analytics records are deleted after 24 hours.
The hosting service also receives the network information needed to deliver the site, such as your IP address and request details, and may keep operational or security logs. Hosting and analytics processing locations and retention depend on the deployment and provider configuration.
Why data is used and who receives it
Career data supports the game and save recovery on your device. Diagnostics support troubleshooting and game improvement. Analytics supports understanding website usage. Hosting providers deliver and protect the site. The operator can access diagnostic records on its server; Vercel receives analytics where enabled.
The applicable legal bases, hosting-provider details, international-transfer safeguards and retention periods are not yet specified for this draft. The operator must complete them for the intended deployment. This notice does not claim that analytics or diagnostics are anonymous merely because you do not create an account.
Retention and your choices
Local saves remain until you delete them, clear this site’s browser data, or your browser removes them. Archiving a career keeps its data. Use the career backup controls before deleting data you want to keep. Exported files remain wherever you save them until you delete them separately.
The current server diagnostic store has no automatic time-based deletion policy. A final retention period and deletion process must be supplied by the operator. Browser diagnostic queues are removed after successful delivery; clearing site data removes local queued records but cannot recall previously sent records.
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, receive a portable copy, and complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact the operator below for server-held data requests. Any consent-based processing must allow withdrawal; this draft does not establish consent.
Contact and policy changes
The operator contact details below are placeholders while this policy is being prepared. Do not send personal information to the example address. The operator must provide real contact details before publishing a final policy.
This page will be updated when the game’s data handling changes. The date above identifies the current revision.
